Another lady writer outdoing me
After linking to my fave Naked Ovary last post, now I'm compelled to direct you to Sara's touching memoir occasioned by the death of Tower, from Phawker.com. I said it before, she said it better.

Thanks Ann,
But I think it's impossible for *me* to outdo *you,* since I never would have thought to become a writer in the first place had I not read yours and Evelyn's pieces in the Village Voice.

I am just enquiring as to whether or not this is the same Ann Powers that wrote an article on My Chemical Romance. If so then I would just like to say I think you are living in the dark age. You have offended me as a My Chemical Romance fan. I am not constantly on video games and I am not dating people online. You are so unbelievably narrow minded. People like you who disect music never grasp the real meaning. It is a form of expression, by no means truth. There music is not something that someone who dislikes it could ever phathom.

Thanks so much for the link -- I've been very mopey about the demise of Tower, and was glad to read someone else mourning as well. My 12 y.o. son, who is just now starting to have independent ideas about music, has been dragging me there about once a week since the signs have gone up, looking to start a collection before we're limited to online shopping.

Hi Ann:
I've written a book about a 1982 Milwaukee Rock Radio DJ stunt. It was post 70's prog and the beginning of the corp rock guitar chord era. I'm in LA and looking for an editor/first draft critique. Can you help?
